From what moment do we close our real lives and open our second lives when the parallel between them is still very much blurred? I find that even though we live a second life our real characteristics are very much the same when it comes down to Financial, emotional, or confrontational situations.. For example, if in real life the city came into town and wanted to annex some homes and put up a building that would benefit the public and the community that surrounds it and the neighborhood joined together and held court in opposition against it. Is it the same in second life where you live in a nice Sim that is meticulously maintained and built to be a "Perfect neighborhood" and someone comes in and puts up a Noisy club and store for everyone to be entertained and flying in to shop and it becomes more of a business district then a Residential living area.. Do we set guidelines for this, do we have residential, financial, and business sectors as the Game grows larger and more chaotic? I myself have built homes, and then tore them down to build a club with tremendous opposition from my friends and neighbors that lived near me, the amount of traffic flow, the "shady" juvenile avatars that come with the element of Clubs and the availability of drama that is within them.. My feelings are undecided on this aspect of the game and brings me back to my first question, where does first life end and second life begin? Do we run the game in the same manner as we would in real life? do we really need a permit to run a club? should a Store front, or a club be limited to business areas of the game? Its an interesting question considering everyone in this game is entitled to the same rights, the same opinions and a right to there privacy. Is there going to be Lawyers in second life that will fight for the citizens and argue in a court of appeals for confrontations in the game, suspension, or just degradation to another in general? Perhaps as the game grows so will the complexities that come with it. I'd like to know if anyone else feels this way, if anyone else has had problems with land development and what kind of effect it has on you in real life when you are playing second life..
