I just read about the Japanese virtual world in Beta called Splume. You can find out about it at https://www.splume.com . I don't speak or read Japanese and the website doesn't seem to have an English version so I wasn't confident about signing up for the beta program. It sounds interesting. There's an English language article about it at http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/nc20070328a1.html . I should get my daughter to try the beta, she can read some Japanese. If anyone can post some pictures or links to videos of the Splume virtual world that would be nice.

Thanks for the links Seagel. It'd be great if someone from SL could make some videos and offer their comments on Splume.
My daughter watched so much anime with English subtitles she figured she should try to learn to speak the language. She's bought several books on Japanese and worked with some language software. She writes some Japanese characters that make absolutely no sense to me at all. She's taking Spanish in school. Lately she bought herself a book on German.
She might want to give Splume a try. She's off on a spring break trip now or I'd make her sign me up.
