EN: Sorry, I don't understand Japanese, and there's not Chinese board, so I am asking here.
How do I get SL to show wenzi? I know it works in my compy, and it sends it because there are little boxes when I type and recieve. Can I change the default font to something like Mingliu? How do I do this?
Thanks, Shufei Zenith

Hi Shufei, I take it you're on Windows. You need to have a unicode font set called Arial Unicode MS installed on your computer, to display double-byte characters. Microsoft is no longer distributing it for free, and you basically need to purchase Office to get it. BUT if you search the web with the keyword "arialuni.ttf" and such, I bet you'll still be able to find some downloadable ones. I hear Yahoo China (or Korea) is better than Google in such cases. OR go out and get a Mac. (j/k) Good luck

Salaam, Salome, Thanks, a lovely Ms. Nino helped me with that last night. It's working splendidly now, well it would be if not for Windoze' picky IME... You know, when it says full-Asian-text support, I generally believe that it means that, but I guess Microsoft has different ideas... It's amazing that in 2006, despite unicode, and with all the computers made in China no less, in the end some languages are still more equal than others in computing. Oh, if I had the cash, Apple would indeed be my new friend. Thanks again, Shufei Zenith

Hello Lance, If you are using window's IME, pressing alt + ~ will switch between the English and Japanese character input. Another alternative will be to hold on to shift on the first character in Japanese input and then the rest of the sentence will display in English.
Hope that helps.
