I thought we should compile a list of all the places in SL that are using ALife to some degree:

I'm not sure my work could be counted in the same class of any of these, but I've used a very simple script to create realistic bleating patterns in a sheep paddock I had a hand in creating. The Paddock is at Green (148, 24) and I think the sheep are freely copiable.

(The sheep bodies are a freebie by Caitlyn Miller, I simply provided the script and bleating sound.)

Sheep, Spheroids

The sheep are cute, but it'd be really nice if they moved around or interacted. If you'd like to send me a sheep I can add some scripting to them so they'll wander about and seek out food.

I've created a very basic Alife "organism" which is on display at my station:
Alviso 71, 91, 57 ( http://slurl.com/secondlife/Alviso/71/91/57/?x=10&y=10&title=Never%20Rust%20Station )
I've also created a plant that grows in sunlight and reproduces (which will be for sale soon).

Please add Svarga.

I've been working on a functional, working eco system for some time now and it's starting to work nicely. I welcome visitors at any time, although if you see me in "busy" mode I request you respect my privacy as I'm probably working on script or a model.

Some pictures here

[edit]
Just realised you put Lauks Nest in here too, would like to mention that it is now owned by Fallen Anansi :)

Awsome, I need to check out Svarge!

Always been a huge fan of Alife, and SL seems like it should be uniquely suited to it, but... Pathfinding. We need a better way than just bumping into things :P. I hate to gripe in such a positive thread but everytime I contemplate working on Alife (I contemplate a lot) I go into fits over the lack of any good way to do that. Oh I've made things that can move pretty freely and easily over even very rought terrain, but it's all done using best guess and randomization. It's sooo clunky (literally sometimes). just a single ray intersection routine! that's all I'm askin.

Anyway, I'm done now. keep up the good work :)!!

Llauren Mandelbrot`s Garden of Life at Yongnam (47,32,21) isn`t up to the standards of most projects in this forum, but I aim to keep working on it from time to time.
