A Bit Of IM AI Fun

Recently I setup an alt called Moopf Blabbermouth for customer support. It has a simple list of commands (only a few at the moment) that people can use to be sent items and stuff. Anyway, I was bored and thought I'd have a bit of fun with an AIML system. I installed a bot on my server that uses the original A.L.I.C.E. AIML (I'm going to eventually work on something more particular for support, which should be fun) and linked it through to my email filtering.

So now you can have a conversation with Moopf Blabbermouth - just pull him up in Find and IM him. Anything he doesn't recognise as a command will be put through the bot. You can IM 'help' if you want to find out what other commands it recognises - there aren't many at the moment (it's early days yet).

So, although not directly artifical life, it is an implementation of AI in SL and I thought I'd share it with the group as I haven't posted here in a long while and thought it was most apt to this forum. You never know, it might spark off some other ideas for AI and AL.

HttpRequest AIML Interface
08-13-2006 19:39
We have written a script that interfaces via the HttpRequest protocols with a AIML based chatbot hosted on Pandorabots free service. To give it better 'awarness' of Second Life we have developed a set of keywords that are programmed into the AIML, but are parsed by the script to complete function calls. We have also started working on a Second Life specific aiml file, but it will always be a work in progress because of its importance.

We have setup several webpages detailing our SL Chatbot.
