At Surina's suggestion I am going to start a thread about my own efforts to develop an artificial life creature.
My first creature is a hovering land creature. It's current form is a 0.5m, red, reflective sphere. I'm using this as a test bed and will add a more natural looking model later on. I will probably keep this creature as a land creature and try to emulate insect behavior.
So far, by following Surina's posts about her fish, I have been able to get my creatures to group tegether and follow an avatar around. This was helped a great deal by me discovering the dot product operator in LSL. (I'm just not very good with vectors yet)
After talking with Surina this morning, I am going to try adjusting the method of movement that my creatures use to get a more natural looking behavior. I would also like to add more behaviors to them so they don't just follow an avatar around.
A special thanks goes out to Surina for taking the time to show me her fish and discuss how they behave.

Sorry about the lack of updates. I've been lazy I have pretty much gotten my creatures to swarm. I am still having a problem with keeping the swarm from "exploding" (flying off in different directions). I'm still working on that problem.
