Instead of fixing it, it gets removed....

On the Land subsection of the www page it use to show a average L/m price for all land up for sale (not auction).

I pointed out in a thread about a week ago how this value was pretty high due to all the folks posting land at outrageous prices (ie 1024m for 999,999L)

So instead of changing the formula to return a better value, they removed the value all together, rats.

LL, let us see more spreadsheets of excell. Our account histories come out in daily excel spreadsheets if we want em, provide more of those.

I love crunching the data on my "country" to give me a thermometer of how temperatures are rising and falling.

Maybe because it is expected to reach $0 pretty soon?

Goto be careful about keeping track of your SL net worth, might be labeled a baron, or not caring enough about those who do not have a need for a spreadheet to keep track of their in-game finances.

Finally, remember that this is 'just a game', the real $ you used to buy land and L$, the tier $ you pay every month, and the hours you spend preparing your courses don't mean anything.

Honestly, who cares if you're a Land Baron? People care too much about reputations and all that mess for this to be 'just a game'. I say big props to the LB's. They're smart. If anyone else could do it, they'd be doing it too. Don't even try to deny it.

Check out the land page for data about actual in-world sales. This information covers the previous seven days and will be updated daily. Current stats are:
Parcels Sold: 1,686
Total Square Meters Sold: 1,888,960
Average Parcel Size: 1,120
Average L$/Meter Paid: L$ 5.04
Median L$/Meter Paid: L$ 4.00

For land data going back a few weeks and wider economic data check
this post.

Thanks for the update to SL! I can only hope that this is a precursor of bug fixes to come.

Does this data include Land for the Landless purchases at L$1/sqm?

Tracking this data would be interesting. Since that post, it's now down to L$4.57 and L$3.71 (average and median, respectively).

Thanks!

Supposively no it doesnt, or thats what i was told. I've been watching the average too, and its been fun to see it drop by literally .1-.2 every few hours as the older sales fall off the far end of the week. Can't wait to see it in a month =)

Whoa ... a quick bit of math reveals that in the last 7 days USD$38,952 has been spent on land given a USD$1.25/L$250 (conservative exchange).

Of course, that's for the equivalent of 421 acres of land, which is just about USD$92/acre, on average. Such a deal! ;)

Interestingly enough, that's just over 26 sims worth of space. Anyone count the total number of sims lately? Can you even tell with the hidden ones?

Simply bringing in more land doesn't cut it anymore, not unless you want to be accused by the gaming magazines of running the most boring land mass in virtual space.

We have an absolutely enormous number of almost identical regions, varying only in being white, green, or the off-color of rock, slightly more hilly or slightly less, and with somewhat varying amounts of water.

WAKEY WAKEY!!!!! This isn't good enough. Every other world out there has more variety in 3 zones than we have across the entire grid.

Please think about this seriously before we get absolutely hammered for it. :-(
