I can't help but think SL *is* a persitant burning man.

get rid of the "wasteland" and you have what I see every day in SecondLife.

Ugh! I certainly hope it is much more than that!

Burning Man (culture) doesn't scale, and is of very limited interest to the bulk of potential customers for SL.

At least I _hope_ that's true, for the sake of SL.

BTW, aren't mind-altering substances a big part of BM? :-)

I'm not much for the "Burning Man culture." I find it a bit too self-indulgent. But I did want to say one thing in response to Oracle.

A streaming MMOG is a mind-altering substance.

I've already sunk several hundred dollars into new equipment for this.

I've got it bad.
