Mauve is clearly marked as "coming soon" on the world map. And why are these screenshots several weeks old? The picture of Slate still has Fleabites park, which was removed weeks ago when the whole tax whining started :] Edit: more sleep, better spelling!

LOL, Ezhar.
Mauve does exist, and I have seen it! It is the home of Solomon's Mines, and the hidden valley of Shangri-La!
No, actually it does exist, but it is empty land that is just out of reach, all ready to go but currently sitting inert on a little server rack.

Ezhar stop whining!!
Hunter you rock!! Love your work!!
p.s. If a person does a long journey by foot it is not surprising if some of the regions passed has changed at the time the article is published d.s

I'm not whining, I'm just pointing things out. Things like the fact that his name is Hamlet, not Hunter :-P

Hey Hamlet - that must have been when I was starting work on my maze in Olive and you did a fly-by card trading. That was quite a while ago You expidition story is quite amusing expecially when the reader notices the times that you visited each sim. Its like a minute or two each. hahaha Cant wait for furthur reports from the expedition!

Small point of clarification in Part 4:
The av that Archanox went into after climbing Kissling is that of the character Priest from the anime Trigun.
Bye bye for now, Alexis

Glad people seem to be enjoying the expedition! I just came back from my own expedition of the First Life variety, taking in the distant spots of Haleakala, Hana, Lahaina, and points in between (I.E. Maui), so I haven't been active in the forums for the last few days.
This trip happened late in July, though I haven't had the chance to write about it until now. I would like to do this again in say 2-3 months from now, to see how much the world has changed...

That was a tantalizing Saturday. Like a lost kingdom, an entire mountain range popped up out of nowhere, and extended down this long peninsula. I only caught a glimpse of this land before I was chased out, but it would not surprise me one bit to find out I had passed directly over Avalon, or that Atlantis may be out there, somewhere under the waves. There's a little island out in the mists as well, west off the coast of Gray. Hopefully soon we'll all get to see these new wonders.
Maybe there will be more islands given away as we expand. Please?

Throw up a note before you go again hamlet, i'd love to expidite (i think that's a word) with you if you go again. Sounds like fun. Of course, if you in Cali, i'm in Ohio, so it'll probably happen around 4 am for me, when i start getting slap happy. Should make for an interesting trip.

Of course! I'll make a big announcement in the Forums before I go-- hopefully we can get a big caravan of folks/animals/vehicles together for that trip.

West of gray is Evie's island. To the east are the four prelude sims around the area where the in-game map shows the compass, and theres even some secret linden area to the far far east, outside the map. If you ask me giving a whole sim to a single person is a waste of resources so i hope we dont get a lot of that.

Ananda said Shangri-La could be found in Mauve. If you refer to the world map, you will see it is actually in Dore.

You're right, Loki! When did Yamato town become Shangri-La?

Great story Hamlet! By the end of your pilgrimage, the feeling of the vastness of the world had greatly increased. If you plan another walking only tour, I'd love to come along. Already so much has changed, and apparently you could plan on Mauve actually being there this time

That was really a great idea, Hamlet. I was reminded of Michael Palin's televised adventures. Next time, I'd like to see more description. It seems you were in and out of sims in a flash and didn't really spend much time in any one place. I want a detailed travelogue!

Thanks! I'll definitely think about longer sim descriptions, next trip. Of course, that would probably triple our travel time, and if I have a big entourage with me next time (as I plan), I might bore them to death by so many whistle stops. Hmm, maybe I can just take more photos. Ah well, we'll figger it out!
