The teleport to Krittannia drops you off in a very large room near some sort of monument. An information screen along one wall displays scenes from the island as a welcome message giving basic information of the island scrolls below it. A second panel to the side lists credits for the builders of Krittannia. To the north side of the room I noticed a row of slot machines. I was hoping that this whole island wasn’t just a big casino. A small object in the corner, “The Misty Hub,” turned out to be a teleport to somewhere. I decided I should leave it alone for now. A wall set fountain, some pots and jars, and other furniture items lined the south wall of the large room. At first I thought these objects might be for sale, but it appears that they are only on display. They all seem to bevery well made. Returning to the monument in the centre of the room, I notice large (bear?) tracks heading out the front entrance of the room. As I follow them out I notice a series of teleport spheres along the left side of the door: “Fireworks Viewing Stage,” “Gates of Hell,” Heavens Gate,” and “Fallingwater Island.”They must be teleports to different locations on the island. I decided to walk around instead and come back to them if there is some part of the island I could not otherwise reach. Instead I followed the mysterious tracks out onto the island.

Temple Kritzuzitzca

The large room I teleported to turned out to be the lower level of a four level stone temple that has a slight resemblance to a step pyramid. A sphere with a golden artifact within slowly spins above the temple. According to the guide, this sphere is called The Star of Krittannia. A series of ramps connect the four levels of the temple along the outside west walls. The second and third floors were empty with only a viewing space in the centre of the floor to the first floor. The top and smallest room of the temple strangely enough, seems to have been converted into an office and temporary living space. Perhaps the office is for the archeologist studying the temple. It would also explain the jars and pottery upon the lower level.

Francis and Cle Jetski

Just outside the temple to the left there is a place where you can try out jetski craft. I took a jetski around the island once avoiding the dolphins and big shark and going over the jetski jump. They actually handled pretty well once you get use to and sound pretty nice. There is a display to purchase a jetski of your own if you like the ones there and have enough l$.

Invisibility Chamber

This artifact looks like some ancient piece of lost technology left behind on the island. Black steps lead up to two torus with a vortex or orange and black swirling in their centres. The device looked like it can be entered from either side. Being adventurous at the moment I entered one side. True enough I became invisible....well almost. I could still see my hat and ears. Oh well. Can’t expect it to work perfectly if it hasn’t been maintained in a few thousand years.

Fallingwater Island

A short hop over with the jetski took me to Fallingwater Island. The first thing I noticed walking up the beach are the huge brightly coloured flowers. These large flowering plants of all kinds made me feel very small as I walked among them. The small island seems to be a garden island dominated by a crumbling stone structure in the centre. The water flowing out of various chutes made me wonder if the structure was really a giant water fountain. On one side of the small island there is a circle of round benches surrounding another small pillar artifact. Upon this pillar, a series of rings orbit about each other. I climbed up the spiral walkway around the centre shaft to find out that it was indeed a giant fountain. The walkway leads to a large circular room that surrounds the fountain with benches lining the sides of the room. I could just imagine Greek philosophers and orators speaking here. The pillar in the corner with the vacant dance gems upon it suggests another function for this gathering area. While most of the openings are covered with a green glass, there are several spaces where one can walk out onto a narrow ledge upon the outside of the upper room.

Mountain Path

Behind the Temple Kritzuzitzca, a series of torches and small white posts can be seen running along the side of a winding mountain path. The path goes very high and is very narrow, not much more then a donkey trail. Half way up the mountain, the path splits in two directions. To the left the path passes an on and off switch set in the ground. The switch didn’t seem to do anything when I tried it. The path seemed to circle back upon itself and go back down to the temple in a loop I had not noticed before. At one end of the path I did notice a stone tower and a balcony made of a strange purple metal. The path didn’t seem to reach either of these structures. The right hand trail wound further up around the mountain passing a rest area that looked out over the sea. It seemed to be a great place to rest and catch your breath before continuing on.

Volcano Caldera

The path lead up to what looks like a boiling lake in the centre of the caldron of a volcano. I can see the balcony and the tower on the other side of the lake. The tower turned out to be a very tall lighthouse. Looking around I notice some rather disturbing artifacts. At the top of the mountain is some sort of statue that looks like a black pot. Arms are reaching out of the pot and seem to have grasped a statue of what looks like an angel carved in white stone. They seem to be trying to pull the angel into the black pot. I walked a bit further along the path which now ran along the very rim of the volcano caldera. Looking back I could see some sort of entrance into the volcano at one end of the lake. It appeared to be a giant skull with horns. A strange red light seemed to drift in and out from between its fangs. This I presume must be the Hells Gate listed on one of the teleports at the temple entrance. A huge glowing red vase sits upon the ledge above the entrance. Ghostly black skulls seem to be drawn into its centre from all directions. I picked my way down the edge of the caldera to the other side of the lake. The path seemed to have disappeared. Following the caldera down to the waters edge I find a surprise. The water is actually quite solid and can be walked upon. Against my better judgement, I walked across the lake toward the horned skull.

Hell’s Gate

Before you stands an enormous gate with an inscription that reads:

"Through me the way into the suffering city,
Through me the way to the eternal pain,
Through me the way that runs among the lost.
Justice urged on my high artificer;
My maker was divine authority,
The highest wisdom, and the primal love.
Before me nothing but eternal things were made,
And I endure eternally.
Abandon every hope, ye who enter here."
— Dante’s Inferno

A crow was sitting near the entrance and stared at me with beady eyes cawing now and again. I knew no attempts on my part would chase it away. This gate seemed to have added a modern feature of a soul counter slowly counting up the number of lost souls. I supposed it was linked some how to the glowing red vase on the ledge high above. I held my breath and stepped into the red mist between the fangs of the skull. I jumped as a deep rumbling voice echoed through the cavern. “Welcome to Hell, shimai.” The tunnel was narrow and spiralled downward. The stone walls seemed to be lined with slick green and red stones. It seems much easier to slide down then to get back out. The lower level opened into a large cavern. Ghostly red lights glow and drifted through the air. Sharp spikes and glowing embers jutted from the walls ready to tear at clothing and flesh of anyone who passed two close. To the left was a well of blackness leading into the abyss. The ghostly skulls seemed to be drawn into the swirling blackness of the pool. Toward the back of the cavern was a platform with several panels of art depicting various demons. The room to the left appeared to be a torture chamber of some sort with an iron cage hanging from the ceiling. A chilling voice howled out something I couldn’t quite understand. I moved on to another narrow tunnel leading down and felt quite claustrophobic at its closeness around me. Hopping to the side I narrowly avoided a spiked wheel that pops out of the wall and began to spin. The sound of something breathing echoed through the tunnel. The tunnel opens up into a smaller lower cavern surrounding a lake. Looking into the lake I could see several glowing objects. They seemed to be glowing orange bubbles coming up from the darkness below. The bones of a large creature lay at the bottom of the pool. Maybe they were bones of a dragon. As I explored the cavern a little further I came upon a great fiery red eye growing out from the cavern floor itself. I decided it was best to stay away from this thing and try to find my way back out. Instead the tunnel I chose lead even further down. I was rather wary of the sharp bladed pendulum I saw hanging from the ceiling of this tunnel. The eyes seemed to be more common here though I kept a clear distance from them. The glowing bubbles I saw from above came from pools of bubbling ooze that welled up from the floor, or maybe it is lava? I didn’t want to get close enough to see. A closer inspection of the bones made me think that it was possibly a dragon or maybe some sort of dinosaur. I even found a fire extinguisher at this lowest level. Some one seems to have a sense of humour. I decided now was the time to leave so I ducked under the evil face protruding from the wall and hunted around for a way out making my way back up the spiral. On my way up I heard a voice whisper... “I see you...” and a voice from the gate. “Leaving so soon?” Not a place I care to return to any time.

Lighthouse

The lighthouse is built off the runes of an old abandoned stone house overlooking the sea. The construction seems more recent then many of the other artifacts on the island. Several balconies line the seaside ridge of the house. I have only found the way to the next lower level of the balconies. They are very low and it’s a good idea to duck if your tall. I was lucky being on the shorter side. The lighthouse itself seems to be hallow with no way up to the top.

Heaven’s Gate

I checked the teleports back at the temple where I first arrived. The only place listed I had not been was Heaven’s Gate. This teleport sent my to a new place high in the sky surrounded by puffy clouds. Turning about I saw a huge colossus. The giant statue stands astride the gate guarding the entrance. The statue is very impressive and well designed. The gate lead into a temple foyer with an image of the Tree of Life upon the floor. More trees grew between the pillars along the side of the foyer. Everything in this temple seemed to be on a grande scale. In the back as the centre piece to this level was a large fountain flowing with the waters of light. A shining glow blazes out from the very top of the fountain. To the left of the fountain sits a teleport sphere that lead to the City of the Devine.

City of the Devine

The teleport dropped me on the next level up. N image of a stone dove decorated the circle of the pad on which I stood. It looked to me to be a large garden city cathedral up in the clouds. Greek architecture decorated this garden in all directions. All of it whole and one piece looking as new as if it had been built the day before. Paintings line the outer walls of the garden and fountains and waterfalls flow throughout. The whole garden was very highly detailed and a wonderful place to walk through and explore. It was a little to the point of overwhelming which I think was the idea when it was created. The garden has an upper level too with high walkways and a good view of the interior of the garden and the sunset from the outside. In the centre of the garden is a tall blue column of flickering crystal and flowing waters. I discovered there was a walkway that wound up around the column structure. It is not readily apparent that this is a walkway. The second level is a short jump away once you get high enough. The pathway continues on to wind up the column. Here and there it requires a jump to get up to the next step where there are steps. With care it is possible to follow the path up to the next level.

Garden of Eden

From the entrance of the Garden of Eden, the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge could be seen. Neither was quite as impressive as I had first hoped they would be. A serpent coils about the base of the tree. I hear a whisper that tells me “You want to taste the big yummy apple.” No thanks, been there already. The arched bridge to the right is a little hard to cross and it is easier just to walk across the river. A series of large half shells line the edges of the garden island. All the water on the island seem to flow from a pool around the two trees in the centre of the garden. On the left side of the garden was an image of Adam and Eve and the Serpent. After doing a little more exploring I went back to the blue crystal columns path which still seemed to climb higher into the sky. In my walks I have noticed several tracking spheres. I’m not sure what they are supposed to do.

Throne of the Devine

The path up to the final level got tricky in places. It was easy to slip off and fall down to a lower ledge. The path lead to an unearthly Angel’s Garden. To the right a pearled gate structure surrounded a fountain of eternal waters. A golden archangel stood guard over the fountain waters. A golden throne room dominated this level at the top of the blue spire. At one end of a golden walkway was a golden incense bowl. Seven scrolls lined the walkway to the throne. The golden throne itself was surrounded by golden incense bowls. High seraphim flanked the left and right of the throne and the seal of peace hung overhead. The radiant particle effects around the throne were really quite impressive. On the way back to the spire I found a blue transport ball that took me back down to the Devine Garden. There seems to be no way down from here though. Help?

Notes:

There is a fireworks area near the Invisibility Chamber. The sign says they have firework shows every evening at 6 pm SL time. It wasn’t running when I went by.

“My Universe Thing” – Another interesting looking artifact on the northwest corner of the island. It is located near a small beach bar pavilion in the same area.

Baby Dragon’s Nest – A very large baby dragon sleeps behind a waterfall with his rubber ducky. I think its best to let this baby stay asleep.

Panoramic Balcony (Firework Viewing Stage) – This is the purple metal balcony I described earlier. Its purpose seems to be to provide a panoramic view of the island. Probably a good spot to view fireworks as well.

shinmai,

Thanks a lot! Great write up, and it's gratifying that you took so much time to explore and discover a lot of the detail that many miss.

When I get round to adding the finishing touches, I promise it'll be a lot easier to get around! hehe.

A lot can be missed when your flying around in the sky in a hurry to where you are getting to next or useing teleports.

The credit really goes to some one who has built a well thought of and well designed area instead of just throwing something up on some land and calling it a castle.
