This election was my idea and I am glad to see some people take it seriously, because We need a president from players.

I know that Phili Linden is King or president but he is a Linden.

We need a president who we vote for him/her, or?

I think we need for each sims or islands a senator, a speaker , ...who knows about all problems in his/ her own sim.
We need a parliament!

I noticed that we have a lot of problems that nobody cares and it is time to do something for our problems.
Maybe I cant win this election because my english is not perfect for that but I will try my best.

-I am playing SL since last NOV. and I dont have questionmark and a lot of euro letters!

-The ratingsystem is not fair and should be changed!

-We need some help centers around SL for newbies!

-We need Lindens in Euro time Zone too!

That's a very good point, and I agree with you. Just looking around the world of Second Life we have Hells, and Heaens, and inbetweens. If people want to live in hell then I say let them. It may be paradise to them.

However it's equalty important that we have representatives that can catch the ear of someone who can make a difference in the Second Life community. We do have issues, and concerens, and we need an outlet. I respect what Andie is trying to do, and she has my support.

Isn't emailing or calling customer support something everyone can do?

I fail to see how 'representatives' are going to make it 'better' for me.

Not in my Second Life they're not. Not even for 'fun'.

My idea of when politics becomes fun? when you're poking fun at politicians!

Being in politics is like being a football coach. You have to be smart enough to understand the game and dumb enough to think it's important.

The organization of any bureaucracy is very much like a septic tank - the really big chunks always rise to the top.

How are politicians and dirty dipers alike? - They both need changing for the same reason.

Later the sheriff stopped by and asked the farmer if he has seen the car. "Yep" replied the farmer. "Where are they?" asked the sheriff. See? The most fun you can have with politics, really.


Oh. And this is not a joke... I just wanted to HORRIFY those people I've seen on the forum who say 'if you don't vote you dont count' and all that bullshit.... I've never, ever, ever voted in any election, general, local, european or otherwise since I became eligible to vote 15 years ago. Because there has not been any person or party worth voting for in all that time. Because all politicians are self serving scum. Or puppets to self serving scum. And yes, if you are a politician in any way, shape or form, that was directed at you. Take it a personal insult cuz it was meant as one.

Before you go voting,

here's some key point to think on...

1) What kind of political system is SL gonna have?
2) How will it be maintained and what will be it's responsibilities and juridictio?
3) how long is the political position for?
4) how will the bureaucracy work...

Also, you can't expect all of the members to respect your title even when you are voted in... at best you would get a 40-50% vote turn out (that is hardly a majority)

If you want to show us you're serious about being elected, then start building a government SIME that can host the representents of each sime, house the common or senate...

set up voting booth in each sime, call for an election in say 3-4 months to allow proper campaining and then claim your presidency...

Otherwise this is just a waste of time and wont get anywhere...

I would like to see this going somewhere and will gladly campain for you if and when I see seriousness in this Call for election.

Now you're talking! It's so nice to see someone put some good thought into a political post.

Currently there is no plan to implement SL-wide politics due to player concerns (probably justified), that the government would degrade into corruption, favoritism, and bureaucracy. I think where politics will find a foothold in SL is in local groups solving local problems. A good example is RATE, SL-TBA, the Libertarians (Anarchists), and the SDF. Now that the seed has been planted, it's only a matter of time before a sim implements its own government.
