Wait....so I'm some sort of "special inner symbol for the artist?" (at lease I'm pretty sure I'm the only person who wears a big buff blue av with orange pigtailsl) Whoa. Cas, we may have to have a talk.

No no, you have it all wrong. See, the bird, when finished, will be my own private "office", so I don't want lots of people going in there. In addition to my built-in security features, I also needed something else to ward off potential intruders. I thought of the most frightening image imaginable, and luckily enough, I happened to have a screenshot of that very thing. One texture edit later, and I had the perfect security system.
![]() Oh, and by the way, that smoke that WAS on the bird wasn't intentional. See, having a prominent fixture in the city comes with certain problems, like say, grafiti. A few weeks ago there was some kind of frightening image placed infront of my bird, mocking it. Yes, the city does have other grafiti problems as well... Just take a look at bUTTONpUSHER Jones' great sculpture of a man. Completely ruined by hoodlums' paint! |

hmm, so you find me frightening, a threatening presence. Perhaps my image, graven onto your ceiling in the highest point in the world is akin to those icons of saints in the eastern orthodox christian church. Feared, yet Venerated?
And the very design of the system! You claim it is to "ward off potential intruders." Yet Hamlet admitted you keep rising, trying to make out just what it is… so you want to bring them into "my" pressence, and then terrify them?!? These are complex emotions casval! And as much as I value and respect your friendship, I'm not sure I'm ready to become a god in this religion you are creating. _____________________

Cool explanation, Casval! Mind if I quote you on it in an upcoming journal entry?

BuhBuhCuh... please DO NOT drop your record-sound-playing-whatever thing in front of the MixMaster at the disco, I had to call a linden to delete it!
In general don't leave your objects at other people's property! |

Mark, I don't think I did drop one of my records at the disco. Are you sure it was mine? I only have one song, the walkabout one Zoli uploaded to test the script. I haven't been in the disco for a few months now, and as far as I can remember, the only places where I have rezzed that record were Shipley, Stillman, and Bonifacio - not Da Boom. Of course, there are tons of records out there that have me listed as creator, but I don't own them. In fact, this whole thing brings up an interesting point. I make a script, don't finish it, but I give the prototype to 3 friends. Somehow, it gets public, now everyone has it. People have used it to play their own music, changed the script to play it loud, and over and over, given it away, played 10 of them at the same time. But I didn't even mean for it to be public. I know that there are people out there selling it for up to $200 (with their own music). Thats a little annoying. I got a very nice mug from a nice young lady who appreciated it, and thats about all the compensation I get. Of course, I get all of the troubles - people flaming me in the forums for where "my" records are being found, people IMing me about why its not working. I've even had people demand that I give them refunds for scripts they never bought from me, just because I happened to write it. (look at the name of the script kids, its version .8, still not done)
Mark, I honestly don't think I left that record there, and I'm usually pretty respectful of other peoples property. That record is kinda a sore spot for me, because its a good example of how easy it is to lose control of intellectual property in SL. I just see these records out for sale ( I saw someone selling musical rugs with my script on them too), and its pretty annoying. I have no problem with them selling the sounds they uploaded, but maybe it would make sense to sell the sounds separate from the record - if I'm not making any money off of my work, I don't understand why user xyz should be. If I was both owner and creator of a record with Zoli's walkabout song that is in the disco that has been there since the genderbender party (last time I was there) and was somehow so annoying that you needed to summon a liaison to get rid of it, then I apologize. But I don't think I was. _____________________

BBC, your days of careless littering have come to an end, now that you've been found out! Finally, the people have spoken out against your messy, messy ways. This is part of the reason I used your image for security.
![]() Hamlet, sure, use whatever you want. I guess technically anything posted on these forums is LL property anyways. ![]() Oh, BBC... Was I uh.. NOT supposed to sell your record to newbies for 1000 bucks? Oops. Oh well, too late for refunds. ![]() |
