Gno Iland - Gnocchia
I was looking at the map this morning and see this new region. "Oh cool", I think to myself. I teleport in, but Im not on the access list and I freeze up and eventually crash. It was a hard crash, took a long time.
Anyway, is the option to be seen on the regions map that of the island owner or through an agreement when the island is purchased? Im not mad about not being able to get there, just didnt like that crash, it hurt. If I cant get there, dont make it an option on the map.

At a guess, that's a glitch. There are a range of new management features coming that will allow private island owners to dictate exactly who can and cant go there, whether it can or cant be seen etc. But they aren't yet implemented, so atm we have the same tools at our disposal as you do on your land. I could post the details of the features from the email, I guess. I presume that wouldnt upset any Lindens? I assume it's not a secret? Edited cuz I make no sense at this time of the morning

From: someone Originally posted by Merwan Marker Kris do you know when these management features will be implemented? Well, from Robin, sent on 14th June.... From: someone I know you have been waiting anxiously for v1.4 to come out and address the access problems you've been having with your islands. Unfortunately, we haven't finished all the features we had hoped to include in the release, although they won't be far behind.
We anticipate being able to offer these features to you within the next few weeks. As I get more information, I'll keep you up to date on our progress.

I guess it is just a bug as Kris suggested. I spoke to the island owner briefly and she had meant for it to be restricted at that time. I would think that it should be invisible and not listed on the map if this is the case.
As it was, after my crash, I relogged there and could fly around all I wanted 20m above the land. I dont think this is the intent involved with owning a private island.

No... and this is precisely the reason why we're getting new tools, because as I said at the moment we have the same access/ban tools as you do. Although I have parcelled the island and use my own access/ban tools in such a way that if you're on my shitlist you are tp'd home (and IM'd to say you're not welcome) before you realise what happened This, in conjunction with the normal tools is pretty adequate for now. Plus I do so enjoy using the freeze, kick and ban tools on idiots who insist on griefing us.

Excluding restricted areas from popular places list
06-24-2004 09:27
I would like to petition to have the banned places excluded from the popular places list too. I tp'd to an island which was mentioned in the popular places list, only to find that it was a restricted access place.
I have no problem with people wanting their privacy, but if they do, surely that should count them out of the popular places list, even if the dwell on their land is comparable with open places?
Seems to me, they shouldn't have it both ways. Caliandris Pendragon
