Every time I try logging on, it gives me an 'unable to connect' error, saying to send my log file to support. Is anybody else getting this?

It just sits there, waiting forevor with the 'waiting for response' message until it kicks you back, right?

Yeah, I just started a week ago, so it's not really making me enjoy it all too much from all of the log-in trouble.

Obviously, there's some huge server problems. Unfortunately, there isn't much we can do but keep trying to get in.

IMPORTANT: 1.6.5 Release Day Moved Up to May 16th!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are planning on updating the Second Life grid to 1.6.5 tomorrow morning, Monday May 16, starting at 6:30 AM. Therefore, Second Life will be down for update from 6:30 am until 12:00pm PST. See below for the 1.6.5 Release Notes. Second Life 1.6.5(5) May 16, 2005 =============================== * Attachments save on teleport only if they have changed since the last teleport or login. Scripted attachments always save. * The "Stop" button for animation steps in the gesture window works again. * Land in estates can no longer be set for sale. * You cannot buy a parcel for L$0 unless you are the authorized buyer. * You cannot find a L$0 parcel in the directory unless you are the authorized buyer. * Text hovering over objects set with the LSL script command llSetText() now correctly wraps at 1000 pixels instead of 300. * Replaced the "nice snapshot" in the Library photo album. * Find places will only return visible land. * Edit tools window now correctly remains minimized while walking. * Fixed bug where idle/away from keyboard residents would not be logged out for inactivity. * Fixed a performance problem with certain QuickTime media streams. SEEMS THEYVE MOVED THE "FIX" DAY UP TO MONDAY THANK GAWD I AM JONESIN SUMPIN BAD BUTTTT: i did get alot done today..i think i almost understand PSP now, thank you Chip! and i understand some of the land buying policies better..maybe... i have read the forums frontwards and backwards..and cooked a meal and cleaned the house, well some anyway...so maybe i rethink being in da game so much....nawwww itd just gimme time to git in real trouble...ROFL!! |

They say a sucker is born every min...well thats just how I feel in the time I have been a Secondlife member. I would have to say that at least half my game time has been spent trying to recover from the so called patches and updates, and lets not talk about lost inventory that follows these great fixs!
Ok I know this may not be the place or best way to resolve the problems I'm having but taking into account that I can never get thu to support for some reason ![]() In closeing I just what to say the people I have come in contact with in game( players )have been great for the most part some very cool peeps out there, I just wish it had worked out better. Now one could say after all it's only a game and just a few bucks ($72)for a year, which is more than I have or well ever spend on a game again! |

Ok. so that makes a little bit more sense now. It is kinda true that when you have no limit on object and you only have the main database running... Then again. FORESIGHT! if you wanted the game to be successful, and you though it would be.. then for God's sake... PLAN FOR IT. When you have users as Content creators.. of course a lot of people are going to create scripts that reference e-mail. not everyone wants to be online all the time to mind their stores. As a suggestion for the Inventory issue.. I can't even begin to tell you how many duplicates I have because of freebies. Copiable items usually only rez a copy.. and if you hit take, then you just end up with two copies. Maybe a feature like In Windows that asks if you want to replace the copy in inventory....
Whatever happens.. PLEASE fix it fast.. i need to log in... |
