A Not In My Back Yard dispute. When people want something built but they don't want it built near them -- a jail, a dump, a wastewater treatment plant, etc.

Well IMO I liked the one with the dumper near Teal... And then I came to the rescue with my cloak of invisibility! :D

Actually, I was quite entertained by the little Lee and Jeff vs. Da Homeys incident...

Well in that case, can't forget our lovely Billboard arguments which go on constantly, though 2 worth mentioning would be Hawthorne and Clementina.

By this definition (which I agree with), the billboard dispute is not really a NIMBY issue, because most of the people who object to the billboards don't want them anywhere, not just in their backyard. NIMBY issues arise for things that you agree need to exist. In the real world, everyone needs wastewater treatment, they just don't want to live next to it. By contrast, most people would be content with the billboards disappearing entirely.

Perhaps the more accurate question is, what's your favorite zoning dispute? This is a somewhat different issue.

The Towers being built in the Sandbox and then pushed over onto your property is an offense under the Sandbox rules.

A couple of gentleman found this out a couple weeks ago when they decided to topple their towers for 5 hours straight onto Slate. I can handle once or twice, but 5 hours? Anyway, I called in a report and Lee Linded informed the gents that it is their responsibility to insure NO PIECES leave the Sandbox and fall onto other SIMS.

Now, for my NIMBY, it would be Billboards. I don't mind if you have a billboard in a place where they are used for advertising, such as in the business areas, but I don't want to see one where I am, in a nice quiet residential area.

Well,

I really dislike the giant RL goofy photos of people that attack your senses when you are flying around. It really breaks up the "feel" of the world.

I'd rather see billboards...

BILLBOARDS, BILLBOARDS, MORE BILLBOADS!
Talking, FLYING billboards! (aka blimps).

Random useless prims sitting on Linden lands that CAN'T be deleted by mortal folk. People should PICK UP their trash!

Oh, yeah...and billboards!
