Simple Stupid money question

I know this might sound stupid, but if you loose money in this game, do you loose money off your credit card? MY cousin told me about a game like that and i was curious.

It's a good question and one that a lot of people wonder, so please don't feel stupid. The answer is that your L$ value in game is NOT tied to your credit card in any way at all.
The only things your credit card will be charged for are your membership fees and your land tier fees if you choose to own land. If you do buy land in world and it pushes you up into a higher land tier, you have to actually go to the website and approve the change before your credit card will be charged at the higher rate.

Your cousin might have been talking about There. The only currency in There is currency that the players buy with their own money. So, any money lost in There is pretty much real world money lost as well. In Second Life, while optional to buy currency from a website, doesn't exactly revolve around that kind of philosophy and it is possible to both earn money and spend money in Second Life with absolutely no consequence to your real world funds. So, unless you buy Linden Dollars, there is no real world consequence to losing money in Second Life.

Don't be hesitant to ask questions either here in the forums or with the many groups in-world to assist people such as the mentor group or live help group!
