With the removal of DI, maybe a good way to allow many others to get on the Popular List is to make the amount the Top 100 instead of 20 shown :).

I would gladly scroll down to see other traffic areas other then what is shown now. Plus this would give people more of a chance to shine on the list.

* It also looks good for Linden Labs to have a bigger list of places to show how popular it is and diversified* <nudge nudge

Great Idea

A very good suggestion. I think a top 100 list would work well.

I would certainly value the information.

I am sure others would, too.

Well, there's always the vote mechanism to spur things on:

What places are favorites of yours, but don't usually end up in Popular Places?

Added to vote area.

Some areas I've never seen on the list:

Apollo Island
Couture Island
Seacliff
Home Depoz
Textures r Us
Fate Gardens
*Nessie* in Laothoe

wish my memory was better...

So many of the places I find by accident, I will see something I am interested in buying and click the Creators name, then browsing in their picks I find a store they sell their goods in but also usually listings of their favorite places.

Many of these places have traffic but only in the low thousands. Plus if they are on a Mature Sim (which I believe there are more of) they have no way of getting past the Club, Casino and other Mature Areas that make up the list. Usually the lowest on that list is about let's say 15,000 traffic (20k is typical).

I also wouldn't think it would hurt to have a sticky once a month in the land area of forum noting the Top 100 for the Month. Or maybe a page on the Website .

Specify Results Limit Instead

I would instead propose offering a way to select how many popular places to list. Perhaps there could be a drop-down box with options like "Show: 10, 20, 30, 40... Results."
