Announcement here. If you're a fan or reader of Barnett, or just like thinking and debating about international policy (from any political perspective) and current events, I hope you come along for the ride. SNOOPYBrown Zamboni and I are especially hoping we get as many international Residents as possible.
As with the Cory Doctorow appearance, Zamboni and I are working to create a virtual edition of Barnett's latest book (actually, his publisher Penguin has generously agreed to let us publish the first chapter (some 70 pages) in SL) with autograph function. We're also working on importing a Podcast and Powerpoint presentation of his last book, to help bring people up to speed (which we'll assist in events next week.)

 Anyway I and SNOOPybrown desided to to with a cool handheld Reader this time. I will have to see if i can finish the authographing function in time since i'm super busy in RL atm. |

I really Like what Barnett has to say about globalization and his ideas for the US military. I saw him speak several months ago about "The Pentegon's New Map" and it just drew me in. Is it still possible to get a place in the sim? I'm very excited about it
