Is there live music at the Belle Feu Nouveau?

I remember somewhere in the forums someone was asking about live music in SL, but I can't locate the thread.

So, tonight there was not quite "live music", but a CD of a band called Opus Bridge and at least one band member, Real Life name < edited on Hamlet's request>, SL avatar name Malachi Kolache, was inworld to answer questions.

The music was quite good, I listened to the whole show floating up above.

It is nice to see events of this nature and this quality in SL. Thanks to the folks at Belle Few Nouvea, ( Olive, (235, 215) ), for this pleasant evening.

Opus Bridge has a web site at www.opusbridge.co.uk

------- note about editing about Malachi Kolache's real name ----------
Hamlet sent me a note suggesing I take out the real name till I have better confirmation that it was ok.

I am pretty sure it was revealed in public in world, and if I was sure of my memory, I would consider that good enough. But it was late, and the only place I am certain it was revealed was in an instant message. Hence I have deleted it.

You have to hear these guys to believe them, they are awesome! They are going to be doing more events with interviews with Malachi and hopefully some other band members, you would be really missing out not to not show.

hello all!

Thanks Hose!

We have done some Live Interviews with Opus Bridge over the past week, however, Last Night was a simple CD Listening Party and meet and greet with the Frontman of Opus Bridge. It is my understanding that someone was promoting last night's event as live, the music was never intended to be live and I appologize for anyone that received misinformation.

We are working on getting the band set up to do a live show, however, that takes quite a bit of coordination and technology to achieve. One factor is space to squeeze the band into, another is the equipment to send the sounds to the stream while maintaining the right sound. It's not as simple as a single performer plugging in and sending their feed over a stream. We will get there soon enough, but in the meantime, we are just excited to have one of our very own residents share his bands creations with the community. I absolutely promote everything live entertainers, artists, developers, and designers bring to this game.

See ya round!

The answer to this question is a wholeheated YES, and not only at Belle Feu, but at many other locations. I've been playing live jazz/bossa/pop in world since June 2004, and Flaming Moe, Frogg Marlowe, Singer Tyne and Wayfinder Wishbringer are others that have been or are playing live music in world.

Frogg plays every Monday and Friday at Clyde; I play every Tuesday at Clemetina Park and most Sundays at clubs including Belle Feu; Singer plays every Thursday at her club, the Moon and Stars pub. Hopefully we'll all get to hear Malachi of Opus Bridge play for us live, with one or more of his bandmates!

Edit 1: Oh, and I forgot to mention the Live Music Enthusiasts group, open enrollment, on which we announce performances about 15 mins before we begin playing.

Edit 2: YES, Hose, sorry I forgot to mention Jaycatt, he is a killer piano player alongside Frogg!

Thanks for the kind words. :)
There's a nice collection of artists in SL, part of the reason I stayed and got the other two members of the band to join and get to know people here. I seem to be living a bit in SL currently so you may catch me floating around.

Hope to see you soon! Don't be afraid to send me an IM either, I'm a friendly kinda dude. :D
