SLers from far and wide... (How far? How wide?)

So most of this week's NWN entries feature a resident
who logs into SL from Balad, Iraq. He might be the
most remote resident of all, in terms of distance from
San Francisco. But I'm not sure-- who are our other
candidates, and where are they logging in from? And
what's their ping like?

I'm in ZhongTian ("Shangri-La";) in China right now.

Last logged in to SL from KunMing, also in China.

SL works from Bangkok too, in Thailand.

Hiya Hamlet,

I log on to SL from Singapore. I think I mentioned it once before during the first book club. I remember Cory telling me about a link that William Gibson wrote about Singapore for Wired Mag a while back.

However far South-east asia may seem (waves at Azelda)
I do think that Iraq is the furthest away from SF geographically.

Yep, I remember speaking with you well, Falchion.
Are there any other Singaporeans online that you
know of?

That's great, Azelda! Do you happen to have a digital
camera, and can picture of you playing SL, with some
distinctly Chinese imagery, in the background? I'd
to love to see that. E-mail me at hamlet@secondlife.com,
or IM Hamlet Linden in-world.

As you know, I log in from Hobart, capital of the island state of Australia, Tasmania. Very much winter here. very cold.

Been trying to break the habit of going to bed at 6:30am in the morning, and waking up at 3pm in the afternoon caused by SL....

Ah yes, who can forget Chage the Tasmanian devil!

What's it look like, outside the room where you log into
SL? Distinctly, well, Tasmanian?

Well I'm in the Uk, but there's also another 8% of SL residents out there from the UK too ;)

My Ping is absolutely fine, but I'm blessed with a 3meg connection ;)

Ok, I'll see what I can do.

What I propose is to take a picture in front of something fairly picturesque and obviously Chinese/Tibetan, holding a book in one hand and an optical mouse in the other. We can use Photoshop to replace the book with an SL gamebox.

Heh. I live in Perth Australia, the most remote city in the world geographically. :)

View from my house (going off-shot to the right). Mt Wellington going offshot in right-background. Yes, its cold and wet and winter

These are great pics! I didn't know Devils were so cute.

Ack, I'm afraid that'd be cheating, to Photoshop it! And
after all, I did take a pic of me in SL from a tiny island
science labratory off the coast of Oahu [Sept 3 entry]:
