CRISIS in Miramare! Last night the citysim of Miramare barely avoided a serious crisis. Apparently someone has been improperly storing biohazardous waste....and it was leaking into the street! Since the waste was on my property (don't blame me...I rent it to a strange little fellow who pays in cash each month), I was immediately contacted by the efficient and scantily clad firechief of Sistiana/Miramare and ordered to clean it up. Fortunately I was able to procure the necessary hazmat suits to protect myself and my cleanup crew. We deployed the most advanced biohazard absorbent objects known to man (Bounty, the quicker picker upper). By the end of the incident, we had fire trucks spraying water, a contaminated victim, a visiting Linden, and all the fried chicken you could eat. To document my compliance with the authorities on this matter, I took many photographs which I will now share: http://zero.hastypastry.net/~count0/molecorp_biochemical_spill/The waste is still there, albeit contained. Feel free to check it out, but FOR GOD'S SAKE WEAR GLOVES!

I was in the area during the clean up with out wearing a hasmat suit or protective plaid skirt. How long do I have to live and/or what kind of new super powers can I expect in the next week?

Oh No!

Zero, Zero!
Did you remember to issue HazMat suits to the molepeople?
And what about their habitats!
For the humanity!

For the humanity! The only suits I had were human-sized, unfortunately. I still don't know what's up. Preliminary analysis of a sample of that green stuff indicates it is highly mutagenic. And those...um....limbs in the barrel? Definitely bioengineered. And as for the facility....do molepeople run it? Or is there a more nefarious organization at work here? Only time will tell.

They appear unharmed, but I need to conduct additional testing before I have conclusive results. I'll be setting up a lab in SL shortly to work on this. In the meantime, ANYONE coming in contact with this substance please IM me. I will keep you posted.

You're just lucky a scientist was on hand to administer the proper dosage of fried chicken.
I tell you what.

Zero, those pictures are awesome. But they are HUGE (betweek 300k-400k which is kinda big for pictures). If you want to display pictures that big, consider creating thumbnails for the short-attention span surfers like myself

All that green stuff is Mole people urine, one of the most toxic chemicals found in nature.

WHAT?? You are using HIPPOS to test lab samples?
Dear Sir, you can expect the proper authorities to contact your lab in the very near future.

Ah, crapola.
Now that we have toxic waste and evil experiments on lab animals, I'll have to create a hairy legged, Birkenstock wearing AV and find SOME way to import the smell of patchouli oil.
Great, there go my plans for the weekend!

this explains alot. i was passing by today and saw some pretty green barrels and some green stuff. i clicked on some of the green stuff and it said "bounty towels" or something akin.
sometimes it best to just mutter " what the..." , shake your head and move on quickly =D
it was a strange day. i spotted 2 UFOs, someone flying down the street in a rowboat and later on, i was acosted in the sandbox by a man with an invisble whip that made little cracking noises.

Re: CRISIS in Miramare!
04-29-2004 09:58
From: someone Last night the citysim of Miramare barely avoided a serious crisis. Apparently someone has been improperly storing biohazardous waste....and it was leaking into the street! As a SLOPCO engineer, I'd like to take a moment to offer my sympathy to the citizens of Miramare, who had to deal with this concentrated hazard. Believe me, I know a thing or two about toxic chemical spills and I can tell you, it's always bad when evidence of one surfaces in your community. The key, really, is in removing all evidence before it can be found. You all may know SLOPCO as a leading world processor of the very petrochemicals that make your modern SecondLife possible-- every time you set that prim-material to be PRIM_MATERIAL_PLASTIC, you are using petrochemicals. SLOPCO petrochemicals. Anyway, as I was saying, we're well known for our fine line of petrochemical products and we firmly believe they make your world a better place. What you may not realize is that SLOPCO (and subsidiaries) offers a complete range of chemical processing and disposal services. Hire our services, and you can sleep soundly at night knowing that no whistleblowers are going to be giving you headaches tomorrow. Why? We use a number of technologies, including our patented Dilution Processors (near the Barcola harbor) and our metallic subsurface containment vessels (not to be confused with the more expensive steel 55 gallon barrels, our containment vessels cost 1/4 as much as conventional storage technology and practically disolve into rust in front of your eyes when submerged-- for the quick dispersal of toxic substances-- and evidence-- your application requires.) Feel free to contact me or Cienna Rand for more information about how SLOPCO can help you lower your total operating budget. And remember-- we pass the savings on to you! Regards, Chromal Brodsky Disposal and Processing Engineer, SLOPCO, Inc.
