Confessions of a Second Life Land Baron

I'm Ulrika Zugzwang. I'm a land baron.

I purchased 4096 m2 of land from auctions, subdivided the land into 512 m2 parcels, and am reselling the land for anywhere from a 5% to 20% markup. Despite claims that I stand to make a huge profit, when one takes into account GOM exchange rates, fees, and land-tier costs the profit is actually quite modest.

I became a land baron as an exercise to understand what it entails, what the risks are, and what the solutions to the problem are. I'm still not finished, as I haven't sold any land yet but when I do, I'll publish the results.

As many of you know, the political organization I am the founding member of, the Social Democratic Faction (SDF) believes that land speculation is a form of "parasitic wealth extraction" and is thus immoral (more details if you follow the link).
