Okay. I admit it. I am kinda slow sometimes. Maybe one of you guys can explain this to me. Plot: Ku 001 (210,14  1264m2 Auction id: 0026192640 Auction close date/: 07-05-2004 Winning bid: $33US Now... I flew over Ku today just for grins withthe Land for Sale/Property Onwers display turned on... guess what I saw? A plot, colored purple at that location.... Hmm. Checking About Land, it shows, and the Closed Auctions page confirms, that the land was claimed on 07-17-2004... a week late based on my understanding of claim dates and Linden auctions. Still, the land remains listed in the Map's land sales display and "colored purple" as auction land. Anyone got any ideas about how this can be? I would love to hear a guess/um, explanation. |

Perhaps not paid for yet... I know there was much hubbaloo about non-auctioned land going for public -- but that was replaced by even more hubbaloo about public land being auctioned..
Atm I don't know whats going on...

I would love to hear a guess/um, explanation. Claim dates are pretty arbitrary and don't pertain to the auction winner claiming the land - just when the Linden setting up the land did so. The sure way to know if auction land is claimed is to see who owns it. If it hasn't been claimed, it will be owned by a Linden and set for sale to the winner for $0. Until the winner buys it for $0, it will be purple. If it has been claimed, it will be owned by the auction winner and be red, not purple.

There are lots of unclaimed auction land in SL. The Lindens won't enforce their rule that people must claim their land within 7 days, or return the plot back to auction. I stare at one everyday, hoping that I can someday bid on it.

Im with Hank on this, the lindens simply dont enforce that rule.
We both had our eyes set on bonnydoon land next to ous in phobos for what must have been months!But eventually it did go up for auction, so I guess it's a case of waiting, but dont expect a linden response as to when it will go up.
