I just got a new MacBook, the black one. I opened SL the other day and it opened fine. I didn't log in, just closed the app immediately. Since then I have not been able to open SL without it crashing right away. I have tried re-installing the application but no success! What do I do?!?!

Did you get a MacBook or MacBook Pro. The lesser Mac book's graphics card is not as compatible. This could be your problem

black.. so its Macbook, not pro... and it should still launch without crashing even with the GPU it has....
usually your best bet for crashing on start up issues, is to go to your home directory, in the library folder there... over to Application Support... then look for the Second Life folder. You can trash that Second Life folder and it will get rid of all preferences and settings and stuff, so next time you run SL its like running brand new for the first time... you wont lose anything but local settings and logs, your avatar and inventory are all stored on the servers under your avatar name and password.

Crashing on Macs seems to be a common problem. I have a MacBook Pro, GeForce 8800 and I still crash / freeze. Bioshock and other programs like WoW run fine. I think they scripted the program itself poorly.
