The minor bug fix today in lieu of complete upgrade seems to have broken Search and causes severe crashes for Mac users. Choosing About Land instantly closes the application. If you have not downloaded it, wait and see. I've commented on the Linden blog, not moderated yet, someone else has commented and has the same problems. Anyone else?

After crashing 5 times in about 7 minutes, a friend in-world told me that it is the updater that is broken and that I need to download from the SL download page instead. I'm getting that now and will try again.

i downloaded second life yesterday and am having trouble getting it to work correctly. my computer meets all of the system requirements for the game: dual 1.25 GHZ G4 (MDD) w/ 1GB of ram and a 64MB ati radeon 9000 pro.
everything seems fine until i try and connect to the game and it immediately crashes. ;\ as soon as the the graphics for the world load my computer freezes completely, forcing a restart.
i am in contact with the technical support for SL via e-mail but they have not gotten back to me - just wondering if anyone else here is having or has had the same problem?
also, i have an 800mhz imac that i barely use but i installed SL on it and it worked just fine (albeit slowly).. why can't i play it on my faster computer?!!
thanks, Ljuna.

Upgraded to it on one of the two macs (an iLuxo), It gave a bad client message and shut down upon start-up. No crashes, because we never quite got to that point. :-/

Funny, no issues here with this release, but when I upgraded to 1.12.1(13) it said there was a problem with the update, and that I'd have to download it again. Doing so now

Doing so now Same here, I have used the auto-updater on three diff machines now and it goes through the entire process and then tells you it's "corrupt" and to go to the website and download it all over again. Anyone out there with a Mac, don't even bother with the auto-updater for 1.12.1(13). It's a waste of time, you have to do it manually.

I just get an error message after manually updating that says there was an error updating and I should do it manually.
I cannot use SecondLife at all.
I am going to cancel my membership, let the rest of my year subscription run out, and say a big F-you to LL. I am absolutely frustrated with all of the problems that happen. Part of my RL job (about 50%) is software development, and I would be fired if I put out crap like LL does. And what do we get when there is a problem (after every update)? Time after time, just a chuckle and a "gee, our bad".
Edit: Right, TonyRockyHorror...I have a first generation Intel iMac, 2GB RAM, 256MB ATI X1600

this kind of thread doesn't help LL fix anything if you don't post the specs of the machine you're using.
that said, i'm on an Intel-based MacBook Pro 1.83Ghz, with 1.5 GB RAM and the 128MB ATi X1600 video card, and i've not had any problems with the newest update.

From: Freyr Elvehjem first generation Intel iMac, 2GB RAM, 256MB ATI X1600 I have the same set up. While the autoupdater crapped out, deleting SL and redownloading appears to be working... I haven't crashed -yet- after about 20 minutes. we'll see... -Ghoti
