Hi! I have been having some problems using my MacBook on SL.

I know on my laptop there is not a left click, however, on SL I have encounter this problem---what do I need to do?

Also, the settings that will be best for me to use (I will be updating to Snow Leopard soon)?

I am also having a problem now, since attempting to modify my preferences, of what appears to be .gz, .cache., .slc, textures, and Sobjects files appearing on my desktop every time I log in. What have I done!

I am not that knowledgeable with Mac's nor with SL, so please bear with me. I did contact a Mac User group on SL, but have not received any info from them yet. Much gratitude for any help, basic to more complex!

Go to the trackpad system preferences. You can set tapping with two fingers to be a left click.

It sounds like you've set the netowrk cache to the desktop somehow. In SL, under the Edit menu, go to network. There's a line for "Disk Cache Location", click the reset button and it should start putting those files where they belong instead of on your desktop.

Thank you very much! I am a little confused however--in my trackpad I have two fingers set, but it has always been for right clicking...

Clicking is not checked. And for Secondary click, it is set for using 2 finders then click. I think i need to experiment with these two settings.

My bad, checking clicking means tap the trackpad with one finger to left click. Checking two fingers means tapping with two fingers does a right click.

how can you not left click? "left click" means a normal click, where "right click" is a secondary click.

Yes it is in normal computer usage, however, about 4 times while on SL it was required for me to perform a left click, which I could not. Tried all ways possible, but never got them to open....=/

Weird sounding, but it happened =)

then you performed a left click fine, its just the thing in SL didn't respond to it... which sounds like an SL issue, not a computer clicking issue.

Everyone I got it to work! Thanks for all the help. I had to check both boxes in trackpad menu =)
