Hello. Does anyone know if there is a viewer version in which ban lines do not show. I heard there was a version in the past that "by mistake" did not make ban lines visible. I would love to try it. Thanks.

That feature is arriving soon, I believe. About a year ago i posted a request to Jira and it looks like its being implemented:

This was posted to Court's JIRA

"Coco Linden added a comment - 03/Feb/09 05:58 PM
Resolving as fixed internally. A new "View > Banlines" toggle has been added. No control over visible distance at this point. "

Better still, go find a great community on a private estate that does not allow ban lines. New Babbage is a glorious 6-region steampunk build without a ban line in site, and Caledon has more than 40 regions of 19th century victorian & steampunk goodness without ban lines in effect. Great for sailing, great for walking and driving, or for taking the train (Caledon's even got a national rail system with service throughout its realm).

I wish they'd stop screwing around with minor details like this and implement some kind of REAL privacy system. Kelly Linden (I think it was) said they were looking into this two years ago.

As long as a camera can go through walls or people respect other peoples property there will be no privacy

Which is why I wrote "I wish they'd stop screwing around with minor details like this and implement some kind of REAL privacy system."

For example, http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-205

Or http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-2390
