Hi!
Last week I got the new iMac. i used to have a windows.
Modelnaam: Mac
Modelaanduiding: iMac7,1
Processornaam: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processorsnelheid: 2.4 GHz
Aantal processors: 1
Totaal aantal cores: 2
L2-cache (per processor): 4 MB
Geheugen: 1 GB
Videocard: ATI,RadeonHD2600
Im wireless with netgear
SL doesnt run as smooth as it did: GPX are less, see a lot of lines. Movement isnt smooth. Typing is slower. Less reaction to the keys etc
Im really dissappointed and I was wondering if I could do anything about it. Im just starting to learn how to work withMac, so please be specific ;)
The internetconnection on other applications is fine, just when I play SL, it gets real slow.
I saw some suggestions about getting rid of wireless, but I have other computers to, so I need the wireless. If hard connection is the solution, can I use both?
Any suggestions, ppls?
thanks in advance, C

Most wireless routers allow you to do both wired and wireless at the same time , and the Macs will switch on the fly from wired to wireless without any rebooting, on my MBP, i just pull the plug on the hard wired connection, turn on the wifi and the Mac just keeps going, (note that may not work in the middle of a SL session, but it does work on web sites.)

Try a hardwired connection and see if it helps. (it's not like your going to be moving that IMAC around anyway.)

Then go into the resulting control panel and make a custom profile for SL, select 'speed' instead of quality, then bump up FSSA and filtering to taste.

Another setting that seems to help is to go to the network settings and turn your max bandwidth down to 200 or so, things will load slightly slower until they are cached, but the client will feel more responsive. Also turning down draw distance to about 128 is a good idea. If all that doesn't work post again. :)

Welcome to the MAC!

There's about 10 - 20 apps on there. Have fun :)
