Second Life crashes periodically on my machine (a 1.2 GHz G4 iBook with 512 MB of RAM). I've noticed no apparent pattern in the crashes, but try to send the crash reports when they happen. Is Second Life this unstable on other machines/platforms or I am just lucky?

Hi!
I took a look at your crash log and I'll ask someone else to look over it as well. It looks as though your video drivers are out of date. You may find this link helpful: https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folderID=27 Pick your version of Mac OS X and the drivers will be listed for you.
