Hi Mac users,
All of a sudden my SL client (1.13.1.6 on an intel iMac) has stopped playing music in parcels that have it. I have no idea why. I hit play and nothing happens. I can however play movies in parcels just fine. I can't see SL making the outgoing connection to the streaming server set in the parcel (via tcpdump) so I am suspecting something is wrong in the client itself. All very baffling and I have no idea what to try next. I've tried clearing cache, re-installing SL and rebooting but all to no avail. Running SL on my G5 laptop is fine, as is streaming from the shoutcast server in iTunes. Anyone have any idea what I can try next?
Cheers, Jeb.

Actually I had no sound in SL at all (shows how much attention I pay to things). And I saw the following in my log file: From: someone 2007-01-07T21:25:58Z INFO: LLAudioEngine_FMOD::init() initializing FMOD 2007-01-07T21:25:58Z WARNING: Error initializing FMOD: Error initializing output device. 2007-01-07T21:25:58Z WARNING: Unable to initialize audio engine
whenever I clicked on play I saw: From: someone 2007-01-07T21:25:42Z WARNING: startInternetStream before audio initialized
which made me think of that old OSX bug where audio wouldn't work in apps randomly due to some dodgy Apple problem. The fix was to run Garageband, quit it and then try the app again (because Garageband resets the audio subsystem for some reason) and indeed that fixed the problem, sound fully working in SL again. I guess whatever was in the last OSX update I installed screwed me. Thanks Apple.

Did you check your MIDI settings? "Audio MIDI Setup" gotta be 44.1khz.
