Is it just me? Or is SL really dark these days? I can barely see anything, even when I set to midday. I think it's something to do with the latest viewers. You used to be able to change the nightime brightness but that option appears to have gone. Yu can change the gamma in hardware options but this doesn't seem to have any effect. And it's not my screen because I have a really insanely bright screen (24 inch imac) with the brightness turned up full - and I'm still stumbling around in the dark in SL.
Anyone else have this problem? Anyone know what one can do about it?

Trying bringing your brightness all the way up? I see it fine, maybe you LCD displace is going into hiatus? Keep trying to change the Gamma settings. If you keep having issues, I have a program that cleans your screen and puts it back to the way it looked when you bought it.

That's pretty weird. No problems with darkness here. I've never even heard of this before, from anyone, ever. Huh.

Goto your grapics tab and make sure you have nearby local lights ticked rather than just sun and moon. Helped me.

Had this issue as well, i chose to use the hardware options in the graphics tab. Preferences/graphics........choose hardware options and fiddle about with that gamma setting. Worked wonders for me! Furry

You haven't by some chance managed to wear a dark gray partially transparent HUD, have you?

No, I'm not wearing such a hud. I've tried tweaking the hardware options but nothing much seems to happen. As my gamma is set to zero I don't see how I can lower it, anyway.
