Rumor - new MBP's

An SL friend flagged me of this, on macrumors.com. Scroll down past the tablet buzz to this entry: "Intel Promotion Appears to Reveal Forthcoming Core i5-based MacBook Pro:"

"Spanish site faq-mac.com reports [Google translation] that chipmaker Intel has sent an e-mail to members of its Intel Retail Edge program touting a chance for participants to win one of two MacBook Pro notebooks based on Intel's new Core i5 processors during the month of January. Apple's MacBook Pro line currently utilizes Intel Core 2 Duo processors."

The implication in the little prize announcement box is that we are talking of a "stunning visual experience: the 2010 Intel Core Processor Family with Intel HD Graphics."

The article suggests an announcement could come as early as the end of the month.

Apple is making a big announcement on 1/27. A lot of people are expecting the new tablet computer -- iSlate, iPad, whatever -- but it wouldn't surprise me to hear about some new Mac models in general.
