Whenever I try to use voice on my imac it produces a horrible screeching sound which is very loud and unpleasant, and not appreciated by those around me. Totally drowns out all other sounds, including any conversation.
I don't get this on a macbook pro which I sometimes have access to. It's just the iMac.
I've tried using different sound input etc, and disconecting peripherals, but it makes no difference.
There's something on my imac producing this feedback or something. But the setup on the macbook is virtually identical.
Has any one else experienced this?
And does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Zipe
I had the exact same problem. I've used voice before with no problem. After I downloaded Snow Leopard, I went to Voice Echo Canyon to test my voice settings and almost blew my head off.
Since nothing had changed on my system (Intel iMac G5) except the OS I can't help feeling it must be linked somehow. Are you using Snow Leopard by any chance?

Hi, yes, I'm on Snow Leopard too. But then again, so is the macbook I tried, and that doesn't have the problem.
But yes, it could be something to do with the upgrade to snowy. I'd never noticed it before although I've barely ever tried using voice in the past.
