This new update does nothing for the crashing problem :-(

Actually if you look at what happened before vs. what happens now, you'll see that they did fix SOMETHING. The symptoms have changed ever so slightly.

Before: Bandwidth and Packet Loss would spike just before you crashed. The Bandwidth Limiter had no effect.

After: Bandwidth Limiter works again. No Bandwidth and Packet Loss spikes. IT JUST CRASHES. And usually while sitting idle in a quite place.

Now for the interesting part... Since I have quite a few computers that can run SL and also quite a few ALTs, I ran an experiment. I left 2 AVs on all night. Woke up and they were still on. Turned on another computer and logged in a 3rd ALT this morning and 1 of the other 2 dropped off with in seconds. So question one is how many computers are in game on your connection when you crash?

Another interesting thing... In last night's testing I noticed more than once that when I crash, at least twice but probably more, my router rebooted. A while back a friend told me she had to replace her router because she kept crashing. I thought that she was wrong but her new router solved the problem. Both my router and her old one are Netgear. So question two is What kind of router are YOU using? Question three is Does your router reboot or do anything odd just before the crash?

The best part is after this happens the Macs get the spinning beach ball of death meaning you have to force quit the app. Assuming of course that you're not full screen so you can. The PC on the other hand just silently drops connection without telling you. (The Mac did this too in 1.9) THANKS! Question one for the Lindens would is really be too much trouble to DETECT A DISCONNECT and TELL US THAT WE'VE LOST CONNECTION? It's not rocket science.

As I've stated before. These problems can not be found or fixed if your sitting inside Linden Labs and connected to the network. The only way you will find and correct these is to get some DSL or Cable connections to test on and to actually USE THEM in your testing. Question two for the Lindens Do you need some help?

Why not it applies here as well? No one posts about Mac stuff there and it gets move if they do. They mac specific parts are of interest to people here and the PC specific part apply there. I could have posted it twice and not noted it but I feel that would be wrong. Would you rather I stop trying to help people? That is the other option.

If that is true, it also applies to Linux users who still don't have a working client!!! 1.10.0 shipped broken!

Unfortunately, it's a shared mizery, and the Linux forums are already chocked full of PO'ed people over this client. Hopefully tomorrow the Lindens will read through *both* forums and fix everything in 1.10.1.
