I'M SO UPSET. I BOUGHT MY NEW MACBOOK and when I launch Second Life it freezes. If I launch it from my office, from my parent's house, from a hotel with wi-fi, I can play. HOWEVER, on my home network it freezes. I have learned to delete the SL folder from the Application Support and I am then able to play. HOWEVER....if I go into my inventory at all, I freeze up and cannot log back in without freezing EVEN when I dump the folder first. I had to re-download SL all over agan this morning to get it to work. I cold log in successfully and access my inventory. I played for about an hour before I had to log off. HOWEVER, upon trying to relog this afternoon....I was fine until I opened my inventory. BAM> I FROZE again and cannot log back in. I am now downloading SL AGAIN. I used to play from my older IBook and it still has no problem logging in. I'm not sure what the issue is. This is a pain....anybody else experiencing this and if so have you found a solution?
THanks

Are you hard wired or wireless?

Cable broadband or DSL?

If wireless, have you tried going hard wired?

I have seen a number of forum members that have DSL get throttled down (reduced bandwith after a few minutes on line) and this has caused them to crash SL.

There are some ISP's that will enable 'throttle control' to prevent high-bandwith usage in residential areas. IE: Australia gets this often.
