I've been having severe problems with my brand new 24 inch iMac (core 2 duo, 256MB Nvidia 7600 GT, 2GB RAM) ever since it arrived. Most of these have been in SL - the mac client crashes on me constantly requiring a hardware reboot.
I had thought the problem was related to the other issues descibed here in other threads (you can see some of my posts).
But do I have hardware failure? It's a week old - so I could call Apple and demand a replacement machine.
The reason I think this is that I have just had the same problem in Bootcamp running the Windows SL client. Complete screen crash and kernal panic. So it's not the software. Is it?
I sometimes have the same problems when starting up, or shortly after startup. I had been putting this down to residual weirdness (a technical term!) following the SL crashes. My screen starts breaking up and I get lots of squiggly lines everywhere, then crash.
But if this happens in Windows too , isn't it likely to be something to do with the graphics card?
Unfortunately, I don't have any other 3D graphics games to test this on. Any recommendations?

It sure seems like it — the card itself or the drivers.
