I have tried to call the support no luck, After ten minutes i get sent to leave a voice message, (grrrrr). I have sent emails to the support team so far i got a generic answer about graphic cards updates, (ugh!) I miss my SL life, this has been going on for four days and it SUCKS!!! Please Help if you have any suggestions, I am on the verge of tears here I did not have any problems before the last update.I have been playing SL for almost six months with only minor problems. I am currently using an Apple iMac G5,which is running OS X. My graphic card is an Ati Radon X600Pro. The current problem i am having seems to be something very similar to what other were experiencing when i read comments on http://blog.secondlife.com/2007/03/...viewer-released . First when i log on to Second Life I received a message that states" Your clothing is still downloading. You can use the world normally, and other users will see you correctly". I am usually the ruth avatar and am all grey. Second, I cant Teleport anywhere I receive a message that states unable to complete teleport in timely fashion. Last after three to five minutes I will usually get a message that states Unable to load gesture, then my Second Life crashes. I have found that if i travel to another area by flying i get some of my avatars clothing back, the same if i use rebake textures.But nothing stops the crash. I have tried to uninstall Second Life, Re install Second Life. i downloaded the old 13.?? version that was available, but that hasn't helped. I only get a message that states i need to update to the newer version, grrr. I have cleared my cashe, re set my setting as in the linden lab help guide. All have had no positive outcome to my playing. Please help. I am suffering from withdraws and am starting to wonder why i pay over 30 dollars a month for problems like this.

I dont own a Mac but I can at least give some helpful suggestions:
1) Uninstall & then Re-install Second Life.
2) Check around and see if there's any reports in the Forums about the version of Catalyst drivers your video card is using. ATI & SL always seem to clash. Might need to update the drivers?

Bells, sorry to hear you're having problems. I assume you're at OS X 10.4.9?
Try deleting the folder at: ~/library/application support/Second Life before you reinstall the Secondlife viewer.
Better yet, create a new account is system prefs. Login to that new account, run SL (download the viewer if you need to). and see what happens.
{The new account will minimize usage of extensions, system add-ins, etc. It will also have NO Secondlife folder of prefs or settings that may cause a crash.}
If these don't help, report back.

I logged on the other day and it was all super slow loading everything like that... taking 10 minutes to what usually would take 30 seconds. Finally SL crashed, and i reopened it, and it was just fine... and has been. I'm pretty sure its server side issues, you might want to try to log in to a different location far away from where your AV currently is.
You can log into a different place by having "show start location on login screen" checked in your preferences on the general tab. You can type in the name of any region you wish to start in, instead of your last location, or your home location. My home location which has been working decently (besides the one time) is called Monema if you want to try there.
It is also possible that your issues are caused by your own internet connection as well. Just for fun the other day (because my cable was out) I tried logging in using Dial Up 56k connection.... and it was almost exactly as you described but even slower. After trying that I couldn't even get it to work right on my cable connection until i went and deleted all the cache and tried again.

From: Tod69 Talamasca I dont own a Mac but I can at least give some helpful suggestions.... Yep, you don't own a Mac, we can tell by the answers Thanks for trying, but its not exactly that simple. There is no simple uninstall and reinstall, since there is no install to begin with on OSX, you just download and run it. If you want to completely remove every file associated with it, you have to do it manually... this is very uncommon to have to do. Video drivers for OSX are bundled and made into the OS updates, they are not something the end user is even aware of. You will only normally have self installed drivers if your using a 3rd party add in video card, which isn't possible in an iMac.

OMG! That sucks! Well, I tried. Still hope someone can get him/her up & running tho. I dunno- ask Apple for the newest drivers? Just seems unfair somehow.

"How to uninstall" was already answered:
- Delete the application from your Applications folder. - Go to your user account on the Mac>Library>Application Support and delete the folder for Second Life. - Install the new version. You will need to re-enter your first name, last name, and password the first time. - I'd fix permissions (Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility) after installing.
It is irritating at times that MacOS doesn't have its own installer/uninstaller unless invoked by an application. Having spent an hour chasing down old install packages I needed to delete to get a clean download of something, I think it's the one thing I'd change about the way the OS does things.
