Hello! I used voice successfully during the beta phase but when it went live, it stopped working. Basically it connects and disconnects over and over. There are a number of bugs in the bug database regarding this issue, but they don't seem to be causing much of a stir at LLabs. I was wondering if it is happening to all mac users (intel? power?) or just a few of us. This is getting sort of frustrating because not participating in voice chat by choice is one thing, but when its just broke, your friends start to get irritated, not to mention ME. Could anyone having this problem maybe vote for the bug in jira? Dunno if it helps anything but it might. Also, any tips from people who HAVE got it working or ideas. I use SL on two intel macs. One is a macbook pro 17" with 2 gig and the other is a mac pro 2x2 with 4 gig. This problem happens with the current released client and the current release candidate. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-2015

Works fine for me, check your port options, mainly your routers keep-alive port cache. It may keep disconnecting that specific pipe without activity.

Its not the network. I loaded windows in a virtual machine under parallels running on the same computer (obviously) and it while super slow can do voice just fine.
This is clearly a problem with the mac voice software on some computers arrrrgghh. Please fix it!

Voice works for me for both the RC and stable clients on a c2d variant macbook, has been stable for quite a while for me. It is very sensitive to my selections for input/output sources when I have headsets attached so my only suggestion is messing with your input/output sources/settings in SL as well as system preferences/sound.
If you want to query any of my settings in world feel free.

I get the same problem from time to time on an iMac Core Duo. Most often simply disabling and re-enabling voice cures it. If that doesn't work, running through the voice setup wizard cures the problem 99% of the time. Normally on these occasions it takes a while for SL to recognise my headset.
Primarily this seems to happen when I log in to an area where nobody is using voice. When it's been really recalcitrant I've found that logging in directly to a welcome area where there are lots of voice users normally clears it up.
Yeah, it's a bug, and yeah, LL should have it sorted out by now, but for once I have a little sympathy for LL - intermittent bugs like this are difficult to identify and eradicate.

Ok I got it working with the RC.... i bought a USB headset rather than the isight and built-in stuff. Then if you set the system audio input and output to the usb headset AND the game it works. If either are set to default... it doesn't for me. sort of lame but at least it is working now yay.
Thanks for the tips on the audio settings.
