Inventory folders won't stay closed

Hi everyone,
I couldn't find another thread with this problem on a cursory search, but please tell me if you have experienced this/have a workaround.

When I log into SL, all of my inventory folders are, as they should be, collapsed.

When I open the inventory window, expand a folder (forget to collapse it when I'm done), and close the inventory window:

upon re-opening the inventory window it is still open (as expected)

however, if I then collapse the folder, and close and re-open the inventory window, the folder is now expanded again. It expands every time I close the inventory window until I relog.

Did that make sense?

Before you close the inventory window, click on the inventory's File menu (not the main window File menu) and select New Window - this will pop up a new inventory window. Close both inventory windows.

Next time you open your inventory, all the folders will be collapsed.

Kriana - same here and very annoying. There is "close all folders" command (under file?) - but this is still a pretty clunky workaround.

I think the whole inventory interface needs rethinking - but that's a big job and the Lindens seem to have a lot on their hands.

Yes I also experience the same issue. I've looked in the known issues forum and support area but can't find any solution. Still trying to find a work around. You're not alone on this bug.

Bug description:
You come inworld and open your inventory (blue button in bottom right).
My Inventory folder is open, Library folder is closed. All other sub-folders are closed.
You start opening and closing sub-folders.
Then exit out of your inventory with all folders closed.
When you again open the your inventory some of the folders that you previous open then closed are open again.


Tip & Trick
Here is a well known bug that's still active and a work around.
If you ever notice that water is missing (from a pool, lake or ocean) here is how to see it. On the tool bar select WORLD, then REGION/ESTATE. A window will appear. Leave the window up for about 4 seconds then close it. The water will now show up.

Well the workaround that meade kindly posted does work like a charm (as long as you close the one with the messy folders first, and the new window with all of the folders collapsed second)

It certainly saves me from having to relog after I forget to shut my clothes folder. (which yes has a ridiculous number of sub folders)
