I used the SL viewer just fine until one day I couldnt get the COMMUNICATIONS window, or any other window to appear, and it's still the same now. How do I fix this?

You mean, you can still open SL and connect and flow inworld, but you cannot open those smaller windows inside the big viewer window ??? Not sure what it is but maybe a fresh insight may inspire you Are you sure you have the right viewer ? Do you have Antivirus or Anti pop-up windows active ? |

Had you previously resized your window? Sometimes that can make panes show up almost offscreen - but you can see a tiny edge and drag it back.
Try deleting or renaming the settings.xml file found in Doc&Settings/SecondLife.
