My first post, hi :)

Anyone here running SL on a MacBook? How is it? I'm tempted to buy one but the Intel graphics make me wonder if it will run SL decently.

Also, how does SL compare when playing through Bootcamp/XP vs. Mac version?

I may hold off buying a MacBook until Jan. so I have plenty of time to decide, and see if any revisions are introduced at MacWorld.

Thanks!

Most laptops struggle with SL, versus robust desktops.... This includes the MacBooks.

There are also several previous threads regarding Boot Camp versus XP Mac version.

Yep, while it is very tempting to buy when Apple makes one of those quantum leaps as with the G5's and now the MacPro - I am holding off until the next releases, probably just before Christmas. The next versions of MacPro will be faster and even more robust. Plus, they will be released just prior to the next version (and probably the final) of MacOSX - Leopard.

If at all possible, go for the desktop. Unless your work, lifestyle, or just plain preference points you towards the laptops.

Take care and enjoy....

Thanks. I just found this link. That pretty much says it all in terms of using a MacBook for gaming. Ouch!
