Hello, I can't seem to figure out how to stream music onto my parcel of land. I use a macbook pro running OSX. I know I have to put the URL in the media tab but I just can't find a step by step guide to get to that point.
I know that most windows users download winamp, go to shoutcast and find a station they like, and look under file info to get the stream URL and then cut and paste that stream URL into the media tab.
Is there an easy way to get to that same URL on a mac? When I go to shoutcast.com, the station opens in Itunes but I can't find a way to access the URL. I'm looking for a 70's and 80's url.

save the shoutcast playlist to desktop and open it with a text editor, then use that URL in your parcel media URL.

Tuesday, Find the station you want in Shoutcast. When you push the 'Tune In' button for it, it will download a little file called, "shoutcast-playlist.pls", then iTunes will open, read the "shoutcast-playlist.pls" file, and tune to the station. (The little file will usually go wherever you've told Safari to put downloaded files...Check your Safari preferences. Search for it with SPOTLIGHT, if you can't find it.) The file itself is usually set to open in iTunes by default. But Right Click on it and "OPEN in OTHER..." Use TextEdit. It will look something like the following. Copy the part following "File1=", and paste it into your Media Tab. In this case, copy and paste, "http://64.236.34.97:80/stream/1048". ----------Example of a Shoutcast Playlist File----------- [playlist] numberofentries=10 File1=http://64.236.34.97:80/stream/1048 Title1=(#1 - 1658/9642) Radio Paradise - DJ-mixed modern & classic rock, world, electronica & more - info: radioparadise.com Length1=-1
----------------------------------------------------------- Of course, for a more flexible solution, allowing you to easily change among your favorite stations, you can also buy a radio, pick one up at the Freebie places, or copy the code that's posted in the Scripting Library.

DOH! Why do it the easy way when you can needlessly complicate things? Thanks, Boggle, I never thought to look there!
