would LL be ok to partner with those guys? test a version? optimize it (hehe)?
EA tried to use this to adapt PC Games to Mac OS, feedback about performance was: disappointing.

/me reboots on bootcamp XP and launches his PC version of SL.

I was under the impression that SL is written to .Net, and that's why it uses Mono rather than Cider or other wine derivatives. Is the story different than that?

.net and Mono have nothing at all to do with Wine/Cider...

Yes we could run the Windows version of SL with Cider (more than likely with minor tweaks) and it would be decent, at least for Intel Mac users, as Cider wont work with PPC machines.

Transgaming doesn't let anyone touch Cider though, so Transgaming themselves would have to set it up and offer the download. Since they wont be paid for it, they aren't going to do it.

Yes it really kind of does have a lot to do with it. If Cider does not support those APIs then there is going to be a definite problem getting the software compiled and linked. Does or does not Cider support .Net? Transgaming does not address that in its product literature.

MacBook Pro 8600 crash, OpenGL Profiler no longer working
10-26-2007 21:00
I used to use the OpenGL Profiler work around to run SL but now it has stopped working. When I click "Launch" it doesn't launch. I need to force quit both SL and OpenGL Profiler.

I've tried with and without the Nicholaz patch version.

No luck.

Any advice? Thank you.

SL written to .NET? Nope. The SL client is native code.
