I'm thinking of "upgrading" my standard Mighty Mouse to something more suitable to building and texturing (I find these activities so much more demanding on my hands than "normal" typing) and I was wondering what others where using and maybe recommending?
Thanks, -Milla

Thanks, -Milla Hey Milla, I am using a Logitech MX Revolution and LOVE it! Works great for all SL stuff.

I actually have been using my Wireless Mighty Mouse for sometime and I love it, actually works well if you have right click activated.

I have been using a Logitech Marble Mouse USB for about a year now, and it's proven to be hand-friendly and easy to use on several different computers, Mac and PC. I have worked with computers for many years and developed a mean repetitive stress condition 15 years ago that still flares up when I do long hours at the keyboard, or certain kinds of computer work: holding down the mouse button a long time while picking up the mouse dragging it, over & over.
Using the trackball allows me to set one of the extra buttons to "click lock", which is great for long drags -- takes the stress off my hand completely. Since I like to look around and zoom when building in Second Life, click lock helps me see long, moving views of an object without holding the button down the entire time. But the extra buttons are small and hard to get at -- I have to wonder how the Logitech people are using it, if they think those buttons are conveniently located.
The trackball, with this click lock option, makes video and audio editing easier for me, too. Any program that has a timeline probably requires a lot of click-and-drag mousing, in my experience, so you might find this feature useful, on any mouse that offers it, whether or not you use a trackball, if the job involves Flash, Final Cut, Audacity, Reason, Live, or Cubase.
I bought a Space Navigator controller recently and LOVE it. Now I touch the mouse even less, and since I learned to disable the "build mode" camera preferences, I can just use the Space Nav in "fly mode" to circle and pan around my objects while I edit, as if my avatar weren't even there. I recommend the Space Nav if you spend LOTS of time holding the mouse button down while Alt-clicking or Ctrl-Alt-clicking. Especially recommended if you use 3D software that supports it, such as blender. The Space Nav also works in Photoshop, but it's hardly worth using it there since panning the image is so easy already -- yet, if you are working a long session and tired of holding down the mouse buttons, the Nav can help.

Im using a Microsoft Trackball Explorer 1.0.

Interesting, I have been curious about the Space Navigator, I might have to give it a try...

Microsoft (AAAARRRGGGHHHHHH!!!!!) Notebook Optical Mouse 3000.
Works great with my MacBook Pro. Has a nifty magnification feature that does come in handy, though not so much in SL.

I use the same mouse as Zak, because it's easier to use, and it also allows me to use the 3dconnexions mouse

Congratulations and shame on you. you are a slut in the very best possible meaning of the word!

A logitech cordless optical trackman. It's a trackball, rather than a mouse... and it's the second one I've owned (I wore the left click out after about 4 years continuous use, and bought a new one straight away, I love it so much!). Trackballs require less wrist movement for use, and can therefore be considerably less fatiguing than a mouse.
The manufacturer's drivers / default os-x drivers aren't so great though (seems to be true of most 3rd party mice with the mac)... I therefore use a shareware mouse driver, called steermouse, which gives you much better control over your mouse settings; definitely worth the $20 registration fee.

been using a Logitech Trackman trackball (thumb controlled ball) and its predecessor(s) for over 10 years now.... other than that I use the trackpad on my MBP, as Apple has the only trackpads I actually like and can use...

Been using the Wireless Logitech MX Revolution for 2 month now and I really do enjoy it. I would recommend getting one of these if you are in need of a mouse!

Logitech LX3 optical mouse, via USB.
Fantastic mouse. Feels great in either hand, very good ergonomic design. Highly accurate. Couldn't ask for a better mouse, for any system.
