SL crashes in Mac OsX Leopard |

I am trying to load SL on to my Macbook, which is running Leopard. However, SL keeps crashing before the software even starts up. I tried reloading the software 3 times. Any ideas?

Is this a fairly new Macbook by any chance??
If so it has been discussed before... It is to do with the inbuilt intel graphics (which LL doens't support.) I believe there is a workaround. Have a look at this thread /164/2a/221173/1.html |

I'm having the same problem with my new laptop with Leopard. Desktop with 10.4 works beautifully. Laptop with 10.5 crashes before seconds after rez. I always find help in these forums. Thanks a bunch!

Claudie, Ourania, please give us more info about your macbooks (model ref, Ram, Graphic chipset,...).
And if your macbooks are actually macbook pros, then... welcome to the frustration club  |

Negko, the problem computer is 13-inch MacBook, 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 1GB memory, 160GB HD. The minute I connect to SL, the book starts reving like a jet plane, and freezes up before full rez. I'll keep checking back. Sonner or later somebody will come up with a fix.

MacBook Leopard - SL fails

Mine is a 13 inch macbook, 2.2 GHz, 2 gb SDRAM, 240 gb storage. SL basically doesn't even start up before the crash reporter comes up.
One of the SL forums directed me to this website: http://softwareblogs.intel.com/2007/11/29/there-is-a-hack-for-second-life-and-the-intel-965-chipset/ The fix, according to this website (for both Mac and PC) was to add two lines of code to the settings.xml file: * <!--Enable object culling based on occlusion (coverage) by other objects--> * <UseOcclusion value="FALSE"/> According to a Mac SL user, it worked for a late 2007 macbook: /164/2a/221173/1.html But it didn't work for me! HELP!!! |
