I'm getting a substantial amount of texture flicker. The patterns and colors change about once a second. Doesn't seem to matter much what I'm doing. It appears on the my avi, land, walls. Here's my configuration information:

This has been going on pretty much the whole time I've been in SL, since late January.

I've got a screenshot, if that helps.

How can I fix this?

haven't seen that happen on a machine like that.... you may try playing with some of your graphics settings in SL and see if anything can stop or start the problem.

Thanks, Missy. I've been doing a lot of playing with the graphics settings, haven't had any luck solving my problem.

i have the same issue!!!

its driving me mad! im on an imac G5, with the worst graphics card ever.....well heres my stuff.....

Machine Name: iMac G5
Machine Model: PowerMac8,1
CPU Type: PowerPC G5 (3.0)
Number Of CPUs: 1
CPU Speed: 1.8 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
Memory: 2 GB
Bus Speed: 600 MHz
Boot ROM Version: 5.2.2f4

BUT.....I noticed, when you go into--->home---->library---->application support---->second life, there is the cache folder, and the folder called digit_darkes. Inside the digit_darkes folder I noticed this odd file called texture.??? I cant remember the file extension, but, my roomate has an account and has logged into SL from computer, and that file isnt in her users folder....Also,

I have noticed inside the Cache folder, when these textures are flickering, it is writing the texture IDs files into the cache folder, which I dont believe is normal.....I tried to make my cache folder unwritable to the application....and for a while it worked....but its back again. Then at one point, I could toggle "enable antisotrophic filtering on and off, and it stopped doing it for a while then too. But it is in fact back, and soo bad I cant take pictures of the items Im selling....

The issue started the very second I upgraded to 10.4 from 10.3.9, so it is probably some kind of incompatibility with OSX 10.4 that isnt pre installed on the OS

SO if you figure it out....YELL AT ME!!!! PLEASE IM DESPerate.....actually considering buying a PC!!! how scary is that!

its probably not a 10.3.9 to 10.4 upgrade issue, if someone on a Intel Mac is having the problem, as there is no 10.3 that can run on them.
