When I copy something, for instance the chat log, I can't paste it in an external text editor. Is this normal behaviour?
How can I extract this history to outside SL?

hmmm...
So you open the Chat Window, and then: ---->You HIGHLIGHT some text in the chat window by select dragging the mouse over it, and then You CMD+C or EDIT->COPY, either one. YOu go out to an external docum and CMD+V or EDIT->PASTE doesn't work? |

It doesn't like pasting into word on the mac for some reason. It works into text edit, smultron, BBEdit etc, at least it does for me.

Microsoft, in its infinite wisdom, wrote their own copy/cut/paste code, instead of using the Mac's builtin functionality. As a result WORD copy/cut/paste does not play nice with quite a bit of other software.
The only solution I know of, is to first paste it into a Simple text document (or Smultron, etc.) , then copy it again from this new document, and then paste the 2nd copy into WORD. |

An alternative is to keep Stickies open while you're in SL. Cut-and-paste into Stickies and the from there, intoMSWord. Byee! Christi |

Lately, I've added "PTHPASTEBOARD" to my Mac. And its WONDERFUL!
Its essentially a clipboard of the last 30 COPY commands. You can paste any of them into any application. Completely automatic. I highly recommend it. www.pth.com |
