I presume because no-one else has mentioned it, that other Firefox users are OK, I was until this morning. But now I find Firefox is not willing to login to my a/c on the SL website or my forum a/c. It works fine with all other secure websites, paypal, my bank, other forums, just not SL ! Safari works ok it seems !
I've cleared cookies, cache, etc
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.0.2) Gecko/20060328 Firefox/1.5.0.2

Anyone have any idea why Firefox keeps taking me back to the log-in password page after submitting the form ?

From: Siobhan Taylor Using Firefox now. Try flushing personal info too (passwords, saved forms etc) from history. I had the same problem with gmail about a month ago. Yo! Tried deleting everything firefox would let me delete from within the app and no success. So I backed up /application support/firefox and deleted that. It's working again  Love to know what caused it. Now to reinstall my extensions and bookmarks. ...
