My PC using friends have told me that there are alternate SL clients out there for PC's that work MUCH better than the LL released client.
Is there such a thing for Macs?

Can't speak for anyone but myself of course, but here the current release candidate is much better for stability than previous builds, even the pre-voice 1.18.0.6. There are still crashes from time to time, but the frequency is down from ARRGH! to grrrrr level.

I use one of the alterneative viewers, and I would not say it is *much better*. Maybe just slightly better. I use it because I like to do that kind of thing.
Don't know of one built for the Mac.

There is, of course, a problem with 3rd party clients -- Linden Labs issues updates to the client too often, and 3rd party clients can't keep up. Every time there is a mandatory new SL client, the alternative outside one ceases to work and you have to wait for an update. |
