I have an IMac that is maybe six months old, duo core, with 2gb RAM. I also have Time Warner, and I AM VERY DUMB when it comes to tech issues. All that known here is my issue.

My connection to Sl is VERY slow, with me getting frozen regularly, and lag being awflul. I have Time Warner, play World of Warcraft with no issues ever, download large media files for my advertising business, but SL is causing me problems. And I hit red allot. I dont get it?

Now, I REALLY suck at tech stuff. So please be very specific on your advice, acting as though you are talking to a totally SLOW noob... cause you are. :)

Thanks!

SL is MUCH more graphics intensive than WoW...MUCH more. You will NOT get the same visual quality with your iMac. You can check your FramesPerSecond by opening EDIT / STATISTICS BAR. Stand Perfectly still somewhere quiet in SL, and watch. I get 5 FPS on my Mac Mini in a typical shopping mall, and 18 FPS on a quiet beach.

The settings below are really dumbed down...but if SL still runs slowly, report back, and we'll check for System Issues.

Assuming your DSL and System are okay, lets
Start with the SECONDLIFE VIEWER Preferences.
